Two Norfolk cricket coaches attended last week's Test match at the Kia Oval to receive certificates from former England captain Michael Atherton in recognition of their outstanding service to grassroots cricket.

Kevin Denmark, the Norfolk Cricket Board's cricket development officer, and Chris Brook, who has been instrumental in developing girls cricket in the county, were presented with their certificates during the lunch break on the second day of the first Test between England and South Africa.

Denmark and Brook attended the Test as part of the Sky Sports ECB coach education programme and their efforts in promoting cricket in Norfolk were acknowledged by the programme's 'Reward and Recognition' scheme.

Denmark has taken on the role of disability lead coach within the county and has also been the driving force in organising schools cricket programmes under the NCB banner in the last 18 months, as well as planning of the 2012 Chance to Shine programme, involving 70 schools in the county.

Brook has committed a vast amount of time in the last few years to developing girls cricket and has been instrumental in the increasing success of the Norfolk girls teams.

The previous day, there was a presentation to Kevin Boardman, who has coached at Mildenhall for 30 years.
