Underdogs Gorleston are hoping to heap more misery on Wroxham when they lock horns in this evening's Norfolk Senior Cup final.
The Thurlow Nunn Premier Division Greens, who play one level below Wroxham, can lift the county's top football prize for the second time in three years if they win at Carrow Road. And they'll fancy their chances with the Yachtsmen set to join them at Step Five of the non-league ladder next term – unless they recieve a relegation reprieve.
Gorleston boss Stewart Larter said: 'Wroxham play at a higher level than us so we go into this game as underdogs, as we did the last round. They have beaten King's Lynn Town (semi-final) and for that alone they demand respect.
'It took a huge amount of effort to win the semi-final against Norwich City Under-21s and this game will require the same level of intensity and work rate if we are to succeed.
'Wroxham have changed their style of football this year and like to play a passing game. They have players who can hurt you so we will need to remain solid and difficult to break down when not in possession. When we do have the ball, we need to impose our own game upon them.'
Ryman Division One North side Wroxham lost last year's final 2-0 to the City youngsters but gave a good showing.
Manager Pawel Guziejko said: 'I think it will be good to end these last couple of months in a positive way.
'We have had time to reflect since the end of the season, we are fully and professionally prepared and looking forward to a great challenge against Gorleston. The 7-1 win against Erith and Belvedere in the last game of the season was much needed in terms of our psychological approach to this.
'It was well deserved and it has helped keep everybody in a positive mood for the game.'
Defender Aaron Taylor (cup tied) is the only absentee for Wroxham. Gorleston striker Nathan Stone is suspended, while Carl Poppy is injured and Bradley Hough will undergo a late fitness test.
