The Norfolk Association of Cricket Officials is looking to boost its numbers during the close season.
The organisation is hosting two courses in the new year in the hope of seeing some new faces out in the middle when the action gets under way at the end of April.
The ACO Umpire Education stage one and two courses will take place weekly at Drayton Bowls Club from Thursday, January 11 to Thursday, February 22.
The courses are available at £40 when booked together. Candidates can register directly at www.ecb.co.uk/be-involved/officials/find-a-course/upcoming-courses or for further information can contact norfolkumpires@gmail.com.
'There is on ongoing demand for qualified umpires in Norfolk,' said Martyn Pointer, NACO's marketing and communications officer. 'The seven week introductory course is suitable for current and retired players, parents who umpire or anyone with a passion for the game. Career paths exist to umpire at the highest levels.'
