Matthew Stubbington hopes he can build on a solid start to his Classic Stock Hatch season this weekend at Snetterton and propel himself towards a title challenge.

The Banham racer currently lies in fourth place in the series – which features retro hatchbacks built prior to 1992 – but will probably need to visit the podium twice and be ahead of current leaders Matt Rozier and Lee Scott if he is to make a realistic challenge for the title honours this year.

The opening races in the Renault Clio 182 Cup proved bruising, but the experience of Patrick Fletcher paid dividends as he heads to Norfolk after two podiums places and in the lead in the series.

The RGB series start their season off this weekend and sees Billy Allbone hoping to be able to build upon last year's efforts when he almost unseated Suffolk's John Cutmore in the race to the Class R title, with Attleborough's Paul Rogers aiming for a good start to the season on his home circuit.

The BMW 330s and Mini Cooper S racers shared the track at Donington, with the tally one win each so far, but expect Lewis Carter and his BMW to add to his race two victory if the weather remains dry.

The BMW M3 Cup will also grace the Snetterton circuit, with Adam Shepherd keen to build upon his two race victories at Donington Park, while in the Honda Civic Cup Martin James won the first race at Oulton Park with Cambridge's Lee Deegan taking the second.

The Mazda MX5s always provides close and exciting racing and Ben Short will be hoping to maintain his perfect winning start to the season.

However, Alistair Bray pushed him hard in the second event at Oulton Park.

The 750 Club Enduro Series is contested by a wide variety of powerful saloon cars, with the diesel-powered BMW 135D of Neil Primrose and Luke Schlewitz beating the rest of the field by over a lap at Donington Park – but they will be hard-pushed to repeat that feat on the Snetterton 300 layout.

The full programme of 20 races starts at 12.15pm on Saturday and resumes at 10.30am the following day, with Historic 750, Roadsports and Hot Hatches completing the local track's line-up.
