Norwich-based British Superbike team Morello Racing are busy preparing to defend the Superstock 1000 title won last year by Josh Elliott.

With Elliott signed for 2015 rivals Tyco BMW this year, Morello Racing’s team principal Steve Buckenham has brought in three new riders and is confident they can repeat last year’s glory.

The new faces are 24-year-old Croatian Tedy Basic, Ben Godfrey, 20, from Nottingham and 19-year-old Fraser Rogers from Wiltshire. The team will be campaigning the very latest Kawasaki ZX-10R machines and will test on March 29 when the BSB tests take place at Silverstone.

Basic has experience in the Italian Championships and European Superstock 600 level, while Godfrey has raced in the BSB Superstock 600 class before he stepped up to the Superstock 1000 last season where he put in some strong rides. He also scored a sixth place in the Dutch Superbike race at last year’s BSB Assen round.

Rogers has a lot of experience for a young rider and last year had several outings on a Tsingtao MV Agusta, but his CV lists Red Bull MotoGP Rookies, CEV Moto 3 Championship and in 2014 he also rode in the World Supersport Championship.

Sutton Coldfield 21-year-old Davey Todd will compete in the Superstock 600 class for Morello Racing this year.

There have also been big changes in the RAF Reserves Team, based at RAF Marham.

Last year the team had some great results, with Peter Hickman on the team’s BMW S1000RR in both BSB Superbike races, the TT and also winning the Macau Grand Prix and they are hoping for a repeat performance with their new signing Alastair Seeley.

Last year Seeley rode the Tyco BMW in the BSB Superstock 1000 class and spent most of the campaign locked in battle with Morello’s Elliott.

Seeley, who comes from Carrickfergus, already has the 2009 BSB Superstock 1000 title and the 2011 BSB Supersport title under his belt and will be doing his best to keep team principle Lee Hardy’s hopes of yet more Superbike victories alive.
