Margate could still yet be handed a reprieve from relegation to Ryman Division One South after Blue Square South side Fisher Athletic were finally wound up last week.
As they were due to be relegated to the Ryman Premier, a space is now free in the division and with Blues finishing fourth bottom last season, they are in line to fill that space. They will, however, have to wait until Tuesday, May 26 to learn their fate when a decision is to be made by the Football Association.
The club have been made aware of where they will be playing their football next season and are preparing for that, but are under strict instructions not to make the decision public until the FA release the details later next week.
Elsewhere, the club's directors continue to negotiate with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) for a new agreement on its outstanding debt.
In a statement, the club said the sale of new shares which the directors had hoped would raise fresh money to settle the outstanding balance to HMRC, had been 'disappointing' and despite strong interest in the opening sales period, only 10,000 shares of the 500,000 on offer have been paid for.
The club are planning to hold an AGM for all shareholders on June 11 which will be followed up with a fans forum later in the month to discuss the club's future.
Meanwhile, Blues manager Terry Yorath has released goalkeeper Pat Mullin and utility players James Gregory and Jackson Ohakham.
Ben Lewis, who signed from Maidstone United at the end of last season but wasn't able to play because his registration wasn't completed in time, will start the season at Hartsdown Park.
The club have confirmed Ryan Peters is to be retained despite Blue Square South side Braintree Town claiming he has signed for them.
Blues have retained the following players: Roberto Corbishley, Jack Haverson, Joe Healy, Ben Lewis, Kieran Morris, Aaron Quain, Ryan Peters, Kenny Pratt, Curtis Robinson, Dan Stubbs, Luke Wheatley, Wayne Wilson and Dan Young.
Striker Joe Taylor has joined the club and will be under contract for the new season.
