Lowestoft Town slid to a painful defeat in London after twice being two goals to the good.

The Blues led 3-2 with just five minutes remaining but then it all went horrible wrong, with the hosts scoring twice to stretch their opponents’ run without a win to seven games.

Harvey Hodd fired Lowestoft in front after just five minutes with a smart finish and it was 2-0 on 14 minutes with Shaun Bammant heading home after a corner was flicked on.

Wingate got themselves back into the game when Reece Richards raced through from the halfway line to score a super individual goal but Dale Brooks’ men restored their two advantage just before half-time when Matty Foy slammed home a ball over the top.

It was back to 2-3 midway through the second period as Marc Charles-Smith reduced the arrears again. Wingate got back on level terms on 85 minutes through Ahmed Rijaz’s close range strike and sealed a dramatic win four minutes into injury-time when Ben Pattie’s low cross crept in.
