Lowestoft Town defender Sam Gaughran has become the latest player to commit to the Blues after signing a two-year contract at Crown Meadow.
Gaughran, who signed for the Blues after being released by Peterborough in 2010, was one of the cornerstones around which the Trawlerboys built their promotion-winning season.
The 24-year-old joins the likes of Ashlee Jones, Adam Smith, Rossi Jarvis and Robert Eagle in committing their futures to the club.
After the furore over the club’s switch from Conference South to North, the Blues management have steadied the ship with Jefferson Louis, Shaun Bammant and Rickie Hayles all ready to be part of the Lowestoft squad next season.
Hayles was part of the Hornchurch side that lost to Lowestoft in the play-off final and joint boss Micky Chapman revealed the Blues had to fend off interest from other clubs for his signature. “He was being pursued by a number of other clubs but after speaking to him, he bought into the ambition and aims of our club and we’re delighted to have signed him.”
