Norfolk’s FA Cup heroes of 2012 begin their adventure this term with a trip to Boston Town.
Dereham Town were the talk of the county last year when they reached the third qualifying round – the furthest stage the club has ever reached.
Even though they lost to higher-level Metropolitan Police in a replay, Matt Henman was rightly proud of his troops efforts and is looking for them to embark on yet another famous cup run.
He said: “The FA Cup was excellent for us last year. It kick-started our success and helped from an interest point of view and obviously from a financial point of view. It’s a good competition and while the league is the number one priority, the FA Cup is probably second because of the benefits it brings. So today is important.”
Dereham will rest Shaun Bammant for the trip ahead of his impending three-match ban.
