Runton retained the Cromer Lifeboat Cup tonight with a 3-0 win over Cromer Youth Old Boys.
And the long-running competition looks set to record its second highest figure in its 100-year history.
The final at Cabbell Park on Bank Holiday Monday night was a close-run encounter until the holders saw their higher division advantage pay in the second half - eventually cruising home through goals by Jack Crane, man-of-the-match Ben Sharman and Paul Winterbone.
Funds raised for Cromer RNLI are likely to top £2,000 - the best since the £2,600 in the cup’s 2005 centenary year.
Runton are aiming to beat last season’s trio of trophies, having won the North East Norfolk first division title, Benevolent Cup and now the Lifeboat Cup. They need to beat Happisburgh in the Division One cup final on May 16 at 7.45 to go one better.
