With Premier Division leaders Blofield and second-placed Cromer in Norfolk Senior Cup action, Acle missed a chance to put pressure on their Sterry Cup rivals when they could only manage a goalless draw at Wymondham Town.

But Mattishall took advantage to go level on points with third-placed Acle after a 3-1 home win over struggling Sheringham. Two goals from Jake Anema and one from George Watts-Sturrock gave the hosts the points with Jodi Norris replying for the Shannocks.

Wroxham Reserves are hard on their heels after Danny Rust and Jamie George netted in a 2-0 win at Loddon, while Beccles also kept the leaders in their sights with a 3-1 win at North Walsham. An Alex Holmes brace was enough to give Kirkley and Pakefield Reserves a 2-1 win at St Andrews.

High-scoring encounters were a feature in Division One as seven matches produced an astonishing 44 goals. Leaders Corton beat lowly Wells 5-2 with goals from Ryan Bloomfield (2) Ritchi High, Adam King and Cai King while Joe Harrison replied with a brace for the visitors. Bradenham Wanderers kept the pressure on in fourth place after a 4-2 win over Hellesdon while Alan Rudder and Robert Burton shared four goals in Horsford United’s 7-2 spree against Hindringham. David Norman’s hat-trick helped Harleston to a 4-0 win at Long Stratton while Thomas Amis and Lewis Easter shared the goals in Norwich CEYMS 4-0 win over Holt.
