Sutton, needing a point to go up, travelled to Division Two winners Hunstanton in the final game of the term. But strikes from Joe Harrison and Paul Newcombe ensured that their team joined the Seasiders in moving up to the top-flight – in both outfits’ first campaign.

Ten-man Clenchwarton ground out a fine 2-1 win at March thanks to goals from Jack Chapman and Chris Scamell. Ash Taylor netted for the hosts but they couldn’t get a second. Tilney’s match with West Lynn was abandoned.
