Lynn Napier pulled off the result of the weekend in the King’s Lynn Sunday League seeing off FANG 3-1.
Nap have the potential to be one of the best teams in Division One and finally showed it with a good solid win. Lewis Osborn scored for FANG but goals from Sam Moses and a brace for Michael Bunn sealed the win for The Nap.
Wisbech Wanderers improved on last week’s 11-0 defeat at Terrington and only lost 3-1 in the reverse, but, it was still a result that confirmed their relegation from Division One. The same result kept Terrington’s title hopes alive, albeit they rest in Chilvers’ hands. Matty Prudence bagged a pair with Kaz Bettlestone notching the other. I Crisp netted for Wanderers.
Gaywood Park Rangers pushed Chilvers all the way in a game they lost 3-1. Ashley Keegan (2) and Jack Johnson scored. J Ashworth claimed GPR’s consolation. Both sides ended with 10 as they each had a man sent off. CSKA Emneth closed in on fifth in their debut season with a 2-1 win over Horsepigs. C Dickson registered for the Pigs with Scott Whylie and Dave Abbott getting CSKA the win.
England’s Hope and William Burt shared six goals and the points in a thrilling game. Twice Hope led before falling 3-2 behind. They grabbed an equaliser in the last minute. Hope scored through an own goal, J Collins and Justin Uddin. Burt scored through Sam Hewitt, Ryan Barnes and Shaun Giles.
In Division Two, Maids Head grabbed a very important 4-3 over West Lynn. R Gowler, T Connor and N Young gave West Lynn a shot, but C Barrett (2) and L Starr (2) ensured Maids triumphed.
Andy Wilson gave Tilney Green Lions the lead in their match before Hunstanton gained control and rattled in six goals, courtesy of Jack Lincoln (2), Jordan Penty (2) Tom Raisbury and Karl Tansley, to claim another three points on their march to the title. Adrian Flux also secured an impressive win, 2-1 over promotion chasing Clenchwarton. Adam Mason scored for Victory, but it wasn’t enough to live up to their name as goals from Kieran MacKender and Ben Vincent saw Flux home. Flitcham racked up an impressive 6-0 win over Elm. Dan Fuller notched twice, with other goals coming from Nick and James Brennock, R Cunliffe and James Ringwood.
CR Eastern Province made the long 33-mile trip to March and came away with a vital 6-2 win. J Harrison and G Cook scored for Saracens, but Curtis Morais (2), C Parkes, B Willmore, J Rolfe and L Mascall all got valuable goals for CR Eastern. And Long Sutton cemented their position in the second promotion spot with a resounding 7-0 win over River Lane. T Lowe, V Mackie and I Spelman (all 2) and S Gedney netted.
