Lynn Napier stunned fellow Division One side England’s Hope to book their place in the Norfolk Intermediate Cup semi-finals.
Ryan Juby’s brace continued the Nap’s fairytale run while Hope, who knocked out Terrington in a thrilling fourth-round tie, could only find the net through Michael Chow. Nap travel to the Bell Inn for a place in the final.
In the Cherrington Cup quarter-finals, a competition for Division One clubs, Chilvers hammered Wisbech CP8 6-1. Danny Jezeph scored five and Tommy Oliver got in on the act for their side who face Nap in the semis. Wayne Morton bagged a consolation for CP8.
Terrington made it 15 goals in two games after their heartbreaking county cup exit with a 5-1 demolition of White Bell. Daniel Chapman helped himself to a brace while Neil Goodbourn went one better and claimed the match ball with a treble. John Murphy scored for Bell.
In the Division Two Knockout Cup semi-final, FANG won their first of their quartet of last-four matches by annihilating Adrian Flux 9-0. The insurance giants put up a brave fight but, not for the first time this season, FANG were simply too strong. Goals from Harry Cunliffe (2), Tom Cunliffe (2), Joseph Malby (2), James Buhlemann, Baron Glynn and Tommy Rix helped deliver their side’s FANG–tastic display.
In further cup action for Division Two clubs, Maltings handed out a pasting to Terrington Reserves. Their 8-2 victory saw them set up a mouth-watering semi-final date with FANG. Kyle Plumb helped himself to four goals, Dean Fish notched twice, and Chris Green and Kris Smith also scored for ‘Tings. Ash Bower and Kieran Twaite-Smith notched for Terrington.
Either Maltings or FANG will face Fowler in the final after they edged out William Burt at the weekend. In a re-match of last year’s final, Fowler won their semi despite being reduced to 10 men when Sam Garner was shown a second yellow card.
Neil Gotsell and Gary Smith scored for the holders to secure their second straight final. Last term’s runners-up Burt exited the competition even though they put up a brave fight. They found the net through Andy Summers.
