King’s Lynn Town secured vital home advantage in the Southern League Premier play-offs with a 3-1 win at Chesham on the final day of the regular season.

It means Lynn are guaranteed runners-up spot, and that means home advantage in Wednesday’s semi-final (7.45pm) and, if they get through that, the final on Bank Holiday Monday.

First up will be Weymouth, who were 3-0 home winners over Hitchin, which meant they finish the season in fifth place, the final play-off position.

The other semi-final sees Slough play Kettering. Slough secured third place with a 2-1 home win over Royston while Kettering thumped Farnborough 6-2.

Lynn went ahead at Chesham after just seven minutes when Craig Parker scored after good work with Michael Gash. Parker doubled the lead on 23 minutes, this time Cameron King the provider, and Lynn were on control.

Cameron Norman made it 3-0 six minutes into the second half with a 25-yard free-kick, before the hosts pulled one back two minutes later through Shane Bush.

But Lynn saw the match out to secure a valuable win.

In the Bostik North Division, Norwich United are relegated after a 6-3 defeat at Cheshunt. Romford leapfrogged the Planters, who finish bottom, after a 4-2 home win over Maldon & Tiptree.

In the same division, Dereham finished their season in eighth place following a 3-2 home win over Hertford Town, while in the Premier Division, Lowestoft Town, already guaranteed survival, were beaten 8-0 at Dorking Wanderers.
