Young Stars boss Dale Allitt believes King’s Lynn should be proud of their ability to produce home-grown talent.

The National League manager has seen highly-rated riders Robert Lambert, Lewis Kerr and Lewis Rose progress into the club’s senior side this winter as they prepare to tackle Elite League speedway for the first time. And even though only Rose will ride for him this term, Allitt is delighted three of his top racers have moved up to the sport’s top-tier.

The Young Stars boss said: “We’ve lost 25 (average points) on our top end last year and that’s a hell of a big space to fill. It’s kind of like starting over again but we are still a developing side.
“I don’t think many other National League clubs can say they have produced half an Elite League team like we did with Lewis Kerr, Robert Lambert and Lewis Rose.”

The East Anglian-based trio will feature alongside world number three Niels-Kristian Iversen, Kenneth Bjerre, Rory Schlein and Nicklas Porsing for Rob Lyon’s team come tapes up in the spring.

Lambert will be just 16 when the Stars kick-off their campaign against Lakeside Hammers at Saddlebow Road on April 9 while Kerr and Rose are still going to be in their early 20s. And Allitt is now preparing to help bring along the Norfolk Arena outfit’s next crop of exciting racers.

The Stars boss, who recently re-signed Scott Campos after the Ipswich-based ace had a year out in 2013, also told the Speedway Star: “If Scott is as focused throughout the season as he is now, there is no reason why he can’t up his average.

“He is still in his early 20s and this year out made him realise he wants to pursue his speedway career. If he continues with the drive and focus he has had over the last few months with his fitness regime, there is no reason why he can’t go forward.”
