King’s Lynn will track their full line-up tonight when a heavily understrength Coventry arrive at the Norfolk Arena.

Nicklas Porsing and Lewis Kerr, who have both missed the Stars’ last three meetings, come back into a team that has a massive 20-point lead at the top of the Elite League.

But the Bees can’t enjoy such a luxury as they travel to Norfolk without heat leaders Hans Andersen and Michael Jepsen Jensen (riding in Denmark) and injured second-string Kyle Howarth.

Not surprisingly, Bees boss Gary Havelock is absolutely livid at the situation which has made his side’s already daunting task nigh-on impossible this evening.

He told the Coventry Telegraph: “It’s just another prime example of how we in England shoot ourselves in the foot – it’s ridiculous that we don’t have an understanding with the DMU (Danmarks Motor Union) like we do with the Poles and the Swedes.

“It’s tough enough to go to King’s Lynn at the best of times with a full team, but really this is a joke – we might as well wave the white flag when we walk though the door, and that’s not what I want to do.

“I’m pretty sure that’s not what Lynn want either, and I can’t see how anybody can gain out of this. We’re in the entertainment business and we need to be giving people value for money.

“It can’t be the right situation to go to Lynn without our number one and number three and with two six-point Premier League riders instead, but some of the crazy things that happen never cease to amaze me. The only slight saving grace is that if we were going anywhere with a weak team, Lynn is probably the best because there’s a good chance we would lose anyway. But I wanted to go there with a full side to see exactly where we are at with our new team, and we would certainly have given them a run.”

The Stars have already beaten Coventry twice in 2014, once at home and the other time away.
