The Linnets looked set to taste their first home defeat of the year on Saturday when they trailed Ilkeston with just three minutes left on the clock.

However, Charley Sanders’ first goal for the club and Ryan Fryatt’s fine finish put Lynn in front before Rob Duffy capped a thrilling comeback by sidefooting an injury-time penalty into the bottom corner.

“We didn’t deserve to win, simple as that. I think it’s harsh on Ilkeston,” acknowledged Setchell.

“Did we deserve to draw? Maybe. It was a tough game. I told the lads it wasn’t good enough. We looked a bit lethargic and we looked like we ran out of ideas at times.

“But there is this amazing thing where we do keep going. We will not stop until the final whistle. And when we got one, I think because of what’s happened over the past three years, I think everyone expected us to go and get another one.

“The long and the short of it is it’s a magnificent three points for us.”

Lynn’s late show extended their unbeaten run at The Walks to five matches in all competitions.

And importantly it helped them hold onto fifth position in the Evo-Stik Premier Division table as the race to reach the end-of-season play-offs continues to hot up.
