Boss Gary Setchell is gearing up to add some extra acceleration to his King’s Lynn Town squad.
Rapid wingers Steve Spriggs and Dan Jacob have left the club since the start of the season while pacy frontman Massiah McDonald still has six games of his ban left to complete.
And after wideman Marc Goodfellow’s departure on Thursday night, Setchell admits he is in a huge hurry to boost the options at his disposal.
“The team’s got everything at the minute apart from genuine electric pace,” said Lynn’s boss, whose men visit Trafford this afternoon.
“We’ve lost Massiah now who’s pacy, Spriggsy (Spriggs) and DJ (Jacob) at the start of the season gave us that electric pace element that can get you out of trouble sometimes. We’ve got a lot of hard-working lads and good footballers but we haven’t got that electric, electric pace. Maybe I’ve got to look at bringing some pace in.”
Loan midfielders Jake Jones and Gary Mills’ spells have ended so there is scope for a new arrival at The Walks.
Setchell added: “Like I say we’ve lost Jonah, Massiah, Millsy (Gary Mills) has gone back so there’s plenty of room to bring someone in. I’ve just got to get my thinking cap on again.”
