King’s Lynn Sunday League round-up: Hat-trick hero can’t help Vulcatech reach League Cup semis

PUBLISHED: 08:30 23 January 2014

A Kenzie Corbett hat-trick for King’s Lynn Sunday League Vulcatech wasn’t enough as the Horsepigs progressed to the League Cup semi-final with a 4-3 win.

Matt Willis, John Sykes, Dan Spalding and A Ambrose saw the Pigs book a home tie in the last four against either Clenchwarton or England’s Hope – whose game was postponed. Chilvers will meet FANG in the other semi after FANG received a walkover triumph over Lynn Napier and Chilvers beat Gaywood Park Rangers 4-0. Jack Johnson hit three while a GRP player turned into his own net. In the Hardy/Sheen quarter-final, CR Eastern Province’s home clash against Terrington was postponed.

In league action, Division Two took centre stage. Two form teams, River Lane and Elm, battled out a 2-2 draw. M Hampshire and A Rouse scored for the visitors, but goals from D Howlett and J Joyce ensured ‘Lane didn’t go home empty handed. Tilney Green Lions’ good spell continued with an 8-1 win over Fleet. Adam Key (4), Rob Precey (2), Andy Wilson and L Stevenson scored.

West Lynn returned from their long trip to March Saracens with a creditable 3-3 draw thanks to an own goal and finishes from R Fowler and G Smith. Ash Taylor (2) and James Hazel bagged for the hosts. Sean Wilcox and C Smith scored for their respective sides in a 1-1 draw between Maids Head and Adrian Flux.

Long Sutton hammered Hustlers 15-1, with D Jackson netting a consolation. J Harrison (4), T Lowe (4), J King (2), M Garner (3), V Mackie and L Conroy got their names on the scorsheet. And Hunstanton made it 14 wins from as many games by thumping Flitcham Bell 5-0. Kieran O’Grady (2), Lloyd Drewery (2) and Jordan Penty scored.
