It was a mixed night for King’s Lynn’s Speedway Grand Prix riders in Poland.

Niels-Kristian Iversen rode excellently to pick up 10 points before finishing last in his semi-final on Saturday night while Kenneth Bjerre struggled to just four. It leaves Stars number one Iversen on 16 points after two rounds – one ahead of his Danish team-mate.

Lynn’s biggest name, and current world number three, said on Twitter: “Hard work tonight. Not bad at all really. Gambled on set-up in the semi, messed it up, so bad way to finish the night”.

Bjerre admitted he had endured a “tough night with set-up issues” and was looking to forget his poor display.

Polish star Krzysztof Kasprzak won the meeting in Bydgoszcz and top-scored with 18 points. He leads the early world championship standings with 35. The next stage will be held in Tampere, Finland, on Saturday, May 17.
