King’s Lynn Sunday League round-up: Napier hand county cup holders Schoolhouse a huge lesson

PUBLISHED: 08:30 13 December 2012

Lynn Napier pulled off the shock of the Norfolk Intermediate Cup fourth round by dumping out last year’s Junior Cup winners Schoolhouse.

Nap triumphed 3-2 after extra-time in a game they were never behind in. Sam Moses put Napier ahead after only five minutes with a beautiful chipped finish after an inch-perfect through ball.

Ryan Juby put The Nap back in front with an effort that went through the goalkeeper’s legs before Schoolhouse equalised with just two minutes to go.

Napier pulled up their socks and Bray Key smashed in a rising shot into the top corner in the first period of extra-time to clinch a memorable victory.

Pott Row Old Boys slipped to a 3-2 loss at home to Ribs Rovers to exit the competition at the last 16-stage. Ribs were never behind in the match, but Row will feel disappointed they didn’t win.

Matt Anderson had a stormer, scoring the first and creating the second for Sam Garner. Darren Hewitt compounded Row’s misery at West Lynn with a red card.

Chilvers travelled to Norwich and hammered Mad Moose FC 7-1 to march into the quarter-finals. Joe Jackson bagged a hat-trick while Tom Anderson, Paul Moore, Danny Jezeph and David Yallop also found the net.

England’s Hope v Terrington was postponed and will be played on Sunday. The draw for the cup’s last eight will be made live on BBC Radio Norfolk tomorrow from 6.30-7pm.

Elsewhere, in the TGWU Cup quarter-final, FANG joined William Burt in the semis by beating Adrian Flux 4-1. Rian Benefer scored for Flux but a brace from Alex Vincent plus strikes from Chez Rust and Ollie Parker saw FANG home.

In Division Two — sponsored, like Division One and the cup competitions, by West Norfolk Scaffolding — Fowler got back into the title race with a 4-1 win over Maids Head. Ant Munson scored twice. Jamie Palmer and Wayne Plummer also netted.
