King’s Lynn Stars’ Grand Prix duo of Niels-Kristian Iversen and Kenneth Bjerre will be hoping to shine in their home country this evening.

The heat leaders are two of the five Danes set to feature in the sixth round of this year’s world championship series in Denmark. Nicki Pedersen, wild card Peter Kildemand and injured Chris Holder’s replacement, Michael Jepsen Jensen, will also feature in the Copenhagen meeting.

Both Iversen and Bjerre will be looking to improve on their GP form which has left them sitting seventh and 13th respectively going into the half-way point of the 2014 campaign. And seventh-placed Iversen especially will be keen to replicate his scintillating Stars form at Parken Stadium.

The current world number three sits 17 points behind reigning champion and 2014 leader Tai Woffinden. The Brit is just a point ahead of American hero Greg Hancock. Bjerre, however, is outside of the top-eight qualification places for next year’s series and has collected just 32 points.

Lynn’s number one, Iversen, has top-scored in five of his league-leading side’s last six meetings and smashed in a paid maximum during the Stars latest win on Thursday. However, it was another max for his team-mate Robert Lambert – his first in the Elite League – during the 60-32 mauling of Eastbourne Eagles which stole the headlines on the night.

At 16 years and 82 days old the talented teen became the youngest ever rider to score a max for the Norfolk Arena outfit. The second string broke a long-standing record set by former world-champion Michael Lee when he was aged 16 and 226 days.
