Hales Ants remain top of the Beccles and District Table Tennis League after a 10-0 win over Framingham Magpies. Adrian Key, Mike Smith and Ian Brown won all their matches.
Hales Gnats joined Hales New Bees in second place with a 10-0 win over Barnby and North Cove New Boys. Although Gordon Howes, David Flatt and James Skilleter won all their matches, four matches went to a fourth leg and Peter McMorran took David Flatt to a fifth and final leg.
There is now a third team in joint second place. Hales Eagles have had two recent wins. Firstly, they beat Magpies 8-2. Barry Fortune won two matches for Magpies, including a five-leg win over Ben Webster, who won his other two matches.
Bill Watts won two matches and Steve Webster won three matches for Eagles.
Eagles beat Barnby 9-1. Again Steve Webster won all his matches. Bill Watts also won all three singles matches and Derek Clark chipped in with two wins.
Grant Holt and his agent have met with Norwich City chief executive David McNally this afternoon in an attempt to “resolve” their differences.
