A primary school has shown its support for England after students were encouraged to wear the national shirt to school.
Pupils at Gaywood Primary School have been getting in the World Cup spirit since the competition began with projects based around the tournament.
On Thursday they showed their support for England by turning out in their national team shirts.
Paul Shanks, headteacher, said pupils were embracing the tournament - and backing England.
“It was about getting behind the team and getting into the spirit of the World Cup. Pupils of other nationalities have been invited to wear their national team strip when they are playing too.
“We’ve also linked it into learning. Our Year 6 have drawn a country from a hat, and then have to draw up a bid for that country to host the next World Cup. It’s meant them learning all sorts of things about the place and having to present to the class,” he said.
