FA Trophy: Canvey Island 0, Wroxham 0

Wroxham earned a replay against Canvey Island at Trafford Park tomorrow night after a hard-fought draw against the Ryman Premier Division side on Saturday.
The Yachtsmen welcomed back long serving goalkeeper Scott Howie for his first game of the season and his goal was immediately under pressure as the hosts dominated the early stages.
Wroxham began to get a grip on the game and on 20 minutes Ben Thompson had the ball in the net for the visitors, but his effort was ruled out for offside.
Angelo Harrop and Matt Blake saw shots go wide for the Yachtsmen, while Howie was called upon to dive at the feet of oncoming Canvey attackers before saving Ashley Miller’s shot in the 40th minute.
The first half remained goalless, but after the break Canvey once again emerged with all guns blazing.
James Hawes shot narrowly wide for Canvey, while Howie saved from Curran and home skipper Rickie Hayles headed over.
Wroxham had two good chances to go ahead with around 20 minutes remaining. Remy Gordon found himself clear in the Canvey area, but his weak shot was straight at the keeper, before Ben Jones miskicked in front of goal.
Substitute Danny Heale should have won it for Canvey but he fired wide from close range as Wroxham held on to take the tie back to Norfolk.
Manager David Batch said: “I was pleased for our players, as they executed their roles really well for the majority of the game.
“For a village club like ours to get non-league giants Canvey Island, who must be expecting promotion into the Conference this season with a Football League manager (Steve Tilson) at the helm, getting back to ours for a replay is a good start.”
