Former England cricket Chris Lewis – who was jailed for importing cocaine from the Caribbean – is Norfolk Cricket Society's guest speaker on Thursday night.

Lewis played in 32 Test matches and 53 one-day but, following early retirement at the age of just 30, withdrew from the limelight until, in 2008, he was arrested for importing cocaine and sentenced to 13 years in prison. He was released in 2015 after serving six years of his sentence. From his arrival in England from Guyana in the 1970s, through his career – with England, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Surrey – to his arrest, subsequent trial and time in prison Lewis will discuss how he's putting his life back together.

A Q&A session will follow the talk and Lewis will also be signing copies of his book Crazy: My Road to Redemption. The event is at the George Hotel in Arlington Lane, Newmarket Road, Norwich, costs £5 for non-members and begins at 7.45pm.
