East Anglia celebrate third Norfolk SRA Squash League win

East Anglia won their third match of the season in the Premier Division of the Norfolk SRA Squash League while Potters beat Bannatyne’s, who have now lost their first two.
At Lime Tree Road East Anglia were too strong for visiting Broadland, coming out on top 19-5 with Hadleigh Farrer and John Cordeaux both winning in straight games and Jack Pearse and Richard Hunt both winning 3-1. Former Norfolk champion Ian Cox was Broadland’s winner as he came from behind to beat Dave Gouldby 13-9 7-13 9-13 6-13 8-13.
Potters beat Bannatyne’s 16-6 as Jamie Goodrich, Paul Field and David Cook all won their matches 3-0. For Bannatyne’s Max Dawson beat Rob Hambrook 3-0 and in the closest match of the evening Andy Wright beat David Hall 13-7 in the fifth.
Sportspark’s 18-6 win over Barnham Broom was surprisingly straightforward as Eddie Weber won in straight games and both Richard Fiske and Stefan Lubek won 3-1. After Barnham’s Craig Aldred beat Andrew Trim in four games Liam Nolan wrapped things up for Sportspark by beating Matthew Bolt 13-7 10-13 16-14 13-6.
Barnham Broom II fared better in Division One as they won 16-9 against North Norfolk. Adie Martin, Adam Goodson and Matthew Bolt, who dropped down from the first team, all won their matches 3-1. For North Norfolk Martin Pearse won the fifth string match against Ian Osmond in straight games while Martin Guppy beat Stuart Sutton 3-9 9-3 9-5 3-9 9-7.
North Walsham had the only maximum of the week as they cruised to a 20-0 victory against Broadland II with Tom Smith, Matt Sumner, Phil Slack, James Gair and Roger Hannant all winning in straight games.
In Division Two Cromer won their third successive match as they beat North Walsham II 16-7. Alec Burrows and captain Henri Paul both won in straight games for Cromer while for Walsham David Attew beat John Baker 3-1 and Ben Parravani also won 3-1 against Ben Herrieven.
In the decisive first string match Cromer’s Richard Keeble came out on top 3-1 beating Rob Whiting 9-2 9-7 8-10 9-1. UEA also won, beating Wensum Lodge 14-8. Andy Keel and Ben Nicholson both won 3-1 while Luke Grindle beat Graham Sibley 3-0.
