Dartford 3 Dagenham & Redbridge 1

An inexperienced Dagenham & Redbridge side slipped to defeat in the blistering heat at Blue Square South side Dartford on Saturday.

Much like in Wednesday's victory over Boreham Wood, Phil Walsh was the only Dagger on show to have featured at Wembley in May, but the striker was unable to replicate his two-goal blitz.

The home side were two goals up within half an hour with Tom Bonner opening the scoring, before Elliot Bradbrook fired a bullet of a shot past Chris Lewington in the Daggers net.

John Still's side rebounded positively and pulled a goal back on 41 minutes when Lee Wooton headed in a Darren Currie cross.

Substitute Sam Butler went close for Daggers in the second period, but it was a former rather than current player who settled the outcome, when Ollie Berquez curled past Lewingon from the edge of the area.

Daggers: Lewington, Ming, Ilesanmi, Wilkinson (Demetriou 79 mins), Reynolds, Wootton, Currie, Tejan-Sie, Walsh (Osborn 79 mins), Evans (Kamara 46 mins), DJ Green (Butler 60 mins).

A Daggers XI will be in action at Bromley on Tuesday evening in their next pre-season game. Log on to the Barking & Dagenham Post site on Wednesday morning for a match report.
