Norfolk’s final Minor Counties Championship match of the season ended in a draw after the final day was wiped out by rain today.
The match had been delicately poised with Norfolk 44 ahead of hosts Buckinghamshire at Slough, with Sam Arthurton (61no) and Trevor Ward (15no) at the crease and eight second innings wickets standing. But heavy rain saw the match abandoned at 1pm.
Norfolk received eight points, with Bucks awarded nine after having two points deducted for a slow over rate. The result saw Norfolk slip down to finish seventh in the table, with Cambridgeshire winning the Eastern Division after their victory over Staffordshire.
