Speedway World Cup week – which started at King's Lynn seven days ago – ends this evening in Poland.
The Norfolk Arena Event One winners Great Britain take to the shale in Bydgoszcz looking to cause an upset and bag a podium finish at the expense of either the hosts, Denmark and Australia. And while that looks unlikely to most observers, GB rider Chris Harris insists there's no reason his men can't achieve a first World Cup medal on foreign soil since 1995.
The race ace, nicknamed Bomber, said: 'You have to be realistic. No-one is expecting us to go out and win it or even get on the podium. So we can go there and enjoy the final. It has been four years since we've been in one, so we will enjoy it.
'I'm confident we can get on the podium – I can't see why not. We have a good bunch of lads and Bydgoszcz is a racer's track.'
GB name an unchanged line-up from the side that shocked Australia in Lynn last week.
The Aussies have selected the same team which won Thursday's race-off while last year's runners-up, and 2014 Event Two winners, Denmark have drafted in King's Lynn's Niels-Kristian Iversen and former Star Nicki Pedersen. They join former Norfolk Arena favourite Mads Korneliussen and Peter Kildemand in going for glory.
Reigning champions Poland qualified automatically for the showcase and their skipper Jarek Hampel believes his team-mates and he will not be weighed down by the expectation of succeeding in front of their own fans.
'The World Cup is one of the biggest competitions in Poland – probably every Polish speedway fan will watch us,' said Hampel, also speaking to Speedway GP.Com
'We feel a little bit of pressure, but we want to do a good job on the track.When we feel a little bit more pressure than normal, that works well for us. We put something extra in when we go on to the track. We will try to do well again.'
