Great Britain hero Steve Worrall will race for King’s Lynn Stars in Wednesday’s Adrian Flux Arena clash with Rye House.
Worrall, who won new admirers for his gutsy display in the Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup Final in Poland, will deputise for Chris Holder who has been suspended for 28 days by the Speedway Control Bureau.
Holder has been charged with breaching rules SR 3.2.7 and SR 3.2.10 including withdrawing (or threatening to withdraw) from a meeting on the official fixture list. This is in relation to last Thursday’s home meeting with Poole.
And a familiar face will be back in Stars colours when Lewis Kerr steps in as a guest replacement for broken collarbone victim Lewis Rose.
King’s Lynn owner Keith Chapman said: “It’s been a horrible few days for the club and I won’t make any excuse for it.
“I will personally ensure the scenes of last Thursday will never, ever be repeated at King’s Lynn Speedway and I urge all our supporters to turn out on Wednesday to show what this club means to them.
“Personally I have also suffered since Thursday, it has been stressful and has weighed heavy on my shoulders. I sincerely apologise to fans, clearly the Poole boys had no issue with the track.
“It’s time to move on and our thanks to Stevie and Lewis for stepping in on Wednesday. We need to bounce back with a good result.
“In addition, our thoughts very much remain with our team manager Dale Allitt and we wish him well for a speedy recovery.”
Kai Huckenbeck is unavailable and rider replacement will cover for him.
Fans attending on Wednesday can also grab their free racecard to keep track of the action.
WEDNESDAY’S TEAM: Troy Batchelor, Thomas Jorgensen, Kai Huckenbeck R/R, Robert Lambert, Steve Worrall, Lewis Kerr, Simon Lambert.
