Anglian Combination round-up: Acle United take full advantage of difficult conditions

Only three Premier matches survived over the weekend with Acle United taking advantage, beating Beccles Town 3-1.
United’s victory came courtesy of goals from Luke Goreham (two) and Jake Humphries while Aiden Lowe replied for the visitors.
Dersingham Rovers kept up the pressure with a 3-0 win over Wroxham Reserves, with Simon Bird, Daniel Jezeph and Jack Johnson on target.
Liam Harvey-Cooper, Kaiden Goldspink, Gary Williams and Michael Tacon scored for Kirkley & Pakefield Reserves as they beat Cromer Town 4-2, Kieran Patel got both goals for Cromer. With teams having games in hand the table is still very close at the top.
A few more matches were played in Division One. Goals from Vaughan Stevenson, Sam Page and John Curtis gave Long Stratton a 3-1 win at Horsford United, Jake Pye getting their goal.
Foulsham slipped up as they lost 3-1 to lowly Corton – scorers were Jordan Smith, Thomas Markham and Joe Rodger while Craig Cornwell got Foulsham’s consolation.
Goals from Karl Bush, Thomas Spalding, Matthew Cross and Ricky Forder gave Bradenham Wanderers a 4-1 win over Hindringham.
Hempnall lost 7-1 to North Walsham Town while Mundford beat Holt United 5-1 – scorers were Michael Jordan (three), Ben Williams, Shane Leech and Jacob Doy for the visitors.
“It was not a day for the faint-hearted with strong winds and heavy pitches,” honorary secretary Chris McCullough said.
“Well done to all those who managed to complete the matches. With so many games being postponed recently and probably more to follow, it will be a busy end of season for many teams.”
