Norwich City are among the clubs reportedly monitoring Queens Park youngster Aiden McGinlay ahead of the summer.

The teenager's performances for the Queens Park U18s side have attracted attention from Norwich and others—including rivals Ipswich and Scottish champions Celtic, with those sides 'alerted' to his form.

That's according to Scottish outlet the Daily Record, who have included City in the list of sides supposedly ready to step up their interest in the 17-year-old.

McGinlay would be available for a small training compensation fee that would be split between Queens Park and Partick Thistle, where he made his name before moving to the Scottish Championship side.

He spent a two-week trial period at Ipswich prior to joining Queens Park, and Town have retained their interest in him since his move last summer. McGinlay is a Scotland U17 international and is highly rated north of the border.

McGinlay's two games for Scotland at youth international level came in a 3-2 win over Switzerland last August, in which he started, and a 3-1 loss to Belarus in October in which he came off the bench.

Norwich have recruited in Scotland previously, bringing highly-rated midfielder Gabriel Forsyth to Norfolk from Hamilton last season. The Canaries have scouts in the area and need to recruit for their under-21 side this summer.

City have welcomed a host of trialists into the building as they step up reshaping their development squad.

Arsenal youngster Kamarni Ryan featured in a behind-closed-doors game with trio Theo Adelusi (Tottenham), Harmony Okwumo (Charlton) and Tom Finch (Cambridge United) all playing for City's U18s against Chelsea last weekend.

Coventry midfielder Evan Eghosa was a trialist for Norwich U21s in their final game of the campaign against Aston Villa, coming off the bench in a 4-1 victory.

Norwich's academy is set for a reshaping this summer with Steve Weaver poised to depart his role as head of football development after seven years.

It's understood the club will take their time before naming a replacement for Weaver. Sporting director Ben Knapper is leading the search as he continues to implement his footballing project at the club.
