It was a quiet week for reader picture submissions last week, but the pictures we received are stunning. John Kerrison’s ‘Starry, starry night’ is very beautiful. The print version (in Monday’s EDP) doesn’t really do the image justice as the stars in the sky are lost. Make sure you have a look at it in the gallery!

A kingfisher is always a difficult and colourful subject but to get the early morning (I presume?) cobwebs in the composition is absolutely stunning!
