The January football transfer window may throw up some strange rumours, but even the most misguided of Norwich City fans couldn’t have predicted the latest arrival at Carrow Road this afternoon: a runaway horse named Boo.
Boo is reunited with her owner after being looked after at Norwich City's Carrow Park facility. Picture: www.canaries.co.ukThe horse was spotted roaming the streets around the stadium at around 2.30pm, before being calmed and haltered with a Canaries scarf .
He was then led to the astroturf football pitch at Carrow Park, where he was treated to carrots in the snow.
The football clubs twitter account revealed the story this afternoon in an attempt to trace Boos owner, and she was successfully reunited just an hour later.
It said: An unexpected visitor to Carrow Road... is anyone missing a horse?
And later tweeted the resolution to the story: Happy to report that with the help of @NorfolkPolice and #ncfc, runaway horse Boo has been reunited with his owner!
Police confirmed that they had been called at around 2.30pm to reports of a horse running free on Thorpe Road, near the Holiday Inn, and that it had been secured by 3.15pm.
A spokesman said it was not clear how the horse had ended up running free.

Not another goalkeeper then? Maybe Grant Holt in disguise -- whoops, should have left that one for Ged Steero.

Was Boo being led to water? Did she drink in the stories about Hooper and Graham? Was she demonstrating the benefits of a vegetarian diet to Delia or the Manager, Boo certainly looks frisky on carrots!
