The EDP People’s Choice Awards, part of the annual Norfolk Arts Awards and Hansells Hostry Festival, are back for a third year and aim to give our readers the chance to give a huge round of applause to the individuals and organisations who are true champions of the arts.

Nominations open today and the entire spectrum of the arts are eligible to be entered.

Previous winners include the Norfolk and Norwich Festival, Norwich-based choir The Voice Project, Holt Festival, and arts press and communications expert Steve Forster.

The 2014 winners will be announced on October 24 at the Norfolk Arts Awards ceremony where an array of other accolades decided by specialist judges will also be presented.

Norfolk Arts Awards producer Peter Beck said: “It’s really important for us that we include audiences and the public in deciding who were the favourites from the last year in terms of theatre, music, art, and all things cultural around Norfolk. It also means a lot to the people who are nominated.

“Who have you seen perform who was just wonderful, what have you taken part in that was fantastic, and whose work do you think is just brilliant?”

Like last year, there are three different EDP People’s Choice Awards categories.

These are: best individual; best small or medium scale venue, festival or organisation; and best large venue, festival or organisation.

Nominations can be put forward on the Norfolk Arts Awards website from today until October 3. The top 10 in each category will then be announced and compete in an online public vote. The most popular three in each category will be invited to attend the Norfolk Arts Awards at Norwich Cathedral’s Hostry on October 24.

The Norfolk Arts Awards are in association with the Eastern Daily Press.
