Youngsters enjoy fishing fun at open day at Lenwade Pike Club
About 40 children have learned angling basics as part of a Fishing 4 Schools open day.
Held at the Lenwade Pike Club, the youngsters learned about everything from fly fishing to rig making, tying knots and cooking fish.
The children taking part came from schools including Norwich’s Clare School, Great Yarmouth’s Edward Worlledge Ormiston Academy, Fred Nicholson School in Dereham, King Edward VII Academy in King’s Lynn and Taverham Academy.
Sally Acloque from Fishing for Schools’ eastern region team said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and there was a great buzz of excitement, particularly when they caught a fish.
“Local sponsors and over 40 volunteers enjoyed the enthusiasm of the children.”
The Fishing 4 Schools programme has worked with thousands of young people in more than 70 schools across England and Wales over the past 10 years.
