Dozens of people gathered in the warm evening sunshine in Castle Gardens to enjoy some relaxing acoustic music to mark the end of the week and the beginning of a packed programme of events in the heart of Norwich.

Two young performers played a mix of original material and covers on the outdoor stage of the Whiffler Theatre.

The live concert was hosted by Wymondham-based Creative Arts East and somewhereto_ - a Big Lottery Fund project, which helps 16 to 25-year-olds, access free spaces in their communities.

It was the third year in a row that Jam Unplugged has been staged on the Friday of the Lord Mayor’s Celebration.

The event was started by George Duller, of Norwich, who sang a number of cover songs from the likes of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pharell Williams, Daft Punk and Gorillaz.

He was followed by 18-year-old singer-songwriter Jodie Richardson, originally from Heacham and currently based in Norwich, who is set to bring out her own EP next month.

The Lord Mayor’s Celebration also got taste buds tingling today when the World Bazaar opened off Theatre Street. The market, which will also be open tomorrow and Sunday, features food and drink from around the world, including Spanish paella, Indian tea, Chinese dishes and a hog roast.
