With her big hair, big voice and big personality, Dolly Parton has dominated the country music scene for decades.

Now fans of the songstress with the southern drawl can live the dream – by dressing up as Dolly Parton.

As Norwich Theatre Royal prepares for Dolly Parton’s musical ‘9 to 5’ on February 25, producers are working with Norwich Pride and the Coach and Horses on Union Street to host a ‘Dress Like Dolly’ night.

So dig out your blonde wig, root out your rhinestone and get ready to belt out the diva’s greatest hits.

The Coach and Horses will be transformed into a little corner of Nashville at 8.30pm on Friday, February 22.

A judging panel including EDP feature writer Stacia Briggs will pick the person with the best ‘Dolly style’, in an evening hosted by drag queen Scarlet Fudge.

John Bultitude, of Norwich Theatre Royal, said: “We want you to come along, put on your best glad-rags and, if you can match Dolly on the microphone, you could earn some extra points from the judging panel.”

He added: “The producers have organised these nights around the country to tie in with the show touring the UK and we feel sure the people of Norfolk will be keen to show they can out-diva the rest of Britain.”

Winners of the ‘Dress like Dolly’ competition will get the chance to see the show in top-price seats and mingle with the media reviewing the production.

At the heart of the event is the musical ‘9 to 5’, featuring a celebrity cast including Natalie Casey (Two Pints of Lager And A Packet of Crisps), Mark Moraghan (Holby City and Brookside), and international stage actress Bonnie Langford.

The musical comedy follows three office workers who turn the tables on their boss by trying to take control of the company where they work, and is showing at the Theatre Royal Norwich from February 25 to March 2.
