A prestigious engineering award has been handed to a Great Yarmouth-based coach company.
Ambassador Travel was awarded the ‘Golden Spanner’ by National Express for its excellent performance during an annual engineering audit.
Inspectors carried out random tests of the fleet, using a traffic light system to score the company.
Ambassador Travel was awarded gold, the highest grade, with inspectors praising the engineers’ “exceptional standards” and “good quality inspections”.
Mark Green, Managing Director at Ambassador, said: “To be recognised by National Express for exceptional standards on the services we operate for them is testament to the hard work and dedication of our engineers.”
To receive the award, the company had to demonstrate that parts were sourced from only reputable suppliers and brakes were tested above the legal requirement.
Ed Rickard, National Express coach service delivery director, said: “We are delighted to award Ambassador Travel with a Golden Spanner for their excellent performance.”
