A resident from Cromer is appealing for more members to join a newly formed UFO (unidentified flying object) group.
Christian Nash, of St Mary’s Road, started the Cromer UFO Group two months ago because of his “interest in the subject for a number of years”.
It comes after recent sightings of lights off the coast of Cromer - including a bright white and blue light which was spotted near to the offshore wind farm at around 8.30pm on Saturday August 3.
Mr Nash said he hoped to increase the group’s membership and they have purchased new equipment - such as night vision goggles.
He said: “In the last two months we have seen things such as shooting stars and also things that are like what has been described off Norfolk’s coast recently.
“Now with our new equipment it makes it easier to spot as some things can’t be seen by the naked eye.”
He added that he had seen a number of unusual things since forming the group, such as witnessing black triangles - a class of UFOs which have reportedly been observed from the 1940s to the present. But he explained that UFOs are too frequently associated with life from another planet.
“It doesn’t mean visitors from different planets or dimensions,” he said.
“It could be military or defence, but I think people sometimes forget that. I do think there’s a big question about if people exist from other planets though - it’s a really interesting subject.”
Mr Nash said he thought it was “fine to take some stories with a pinch of salt” and liked to come up with his own conclusions.
He said the idea behind the group would be to discuss different theories and also use the equipment to spot UFOs in the area.
The group usually meet every Tuesday evening at around 9.30pm
