Woman who was run over outside her home in Outwell named as Maureen Maycroft

A woman who died in hospital after being run over outside her home in Outwell, near Wisbech, has been named as Maureen Maycroft.

Mrs Maycroft, 69, was seriously injured when she was struck by a car at around 10.25am on Wednesday, March 5.

She suffered serious internal injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge by air ambulance where she died on Tuesday, March 11. The male driver was unhurt.

An inquest opened in Norwich today heard that Mrs Maycroft had been admitted to Addenbrooke’s on March 5 “after apparently being run over outside her home”.

The inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed.

Officers are reappealing for any witnesses to call the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101.
