Woman taken to hospital after car comes off A47 near Dereham and ends up in Tesco car park

Three fire crews were called to Dereham this evening after a car left the A47 slip-road next to the town’s Tesco store and ended up in the supermarket’s car park.
A 21-year-old woman has since been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in King’s Lynn, after complaining of neck pain.
Two fire engines from Dereham and one from Watton arrived at the scene just before 5.15pm and used hydraulic rescue equipment to cut the woman free from the car.
The car had come off the westbound slip-road off the A47 but the woman was conscious and breathing, an East of England Ambulance Service Trust spokesman confirmed.
The spokesman said the woman was complaining of “central neck pain” and conveyed to hospital using a spinal collar and board.
The fire crews left the scene at 6.30pm.
