A woman in her 40s was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with non-life threatening chest pains yesterday evening after a crash on Burgh Road, Aylsham.

The woman was a passenger in a Kia Picanto car which was in collision with a Mercedes van at about 4.30pm.

A man who was also involved in the incident was described by an ambulance service spokesman as “walking wounded.”

Firefighters from Aylsham and North Walsham used hydraulic rescue equipment to free the woman who was trapped in the car. The crash blocked the road until 7.40pm.
