A driver whose car ploughed into a lamppost in the early hours of this morning (Sunday) suffered head and leg injuries in the collision.

The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) were called to Westwood Avenue at 4.11am on Sunday after a car collided with a lamppost, near to a row of shops.

A spokesman for EEAST said: “An ambulance was sent to the scene, close to the One Stop Store. The crew assessed the patient, aged in her late 40s, for leg and head injuries and she was taken to James Paget University Hospital (in Gorleston) for further care.”
