Woman and child taken to hospital after car fire in King’s Lynn

A woman and child had a lucky escape after their car caught fire following an road accident.


At around 9pm last night, emergency services raced to the scene at Losinga Road, King’s Lynn.

Fire crews from Downham Market, King’s Lynn and Terrington St Clement were called out, but by the time they got there, the fire had been put out.

A spokesperson from the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called just before 9pm and dispatched a rapid response car, ambulance and paramedic officer.

“A woman in her 40s suffered a minor injury and an infant was also assessed and thankfully uninjured.

Both were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital as a precaution.”

Appliances from Kings Lynn, Downham Market and Terrington attended a road traffic collision on Losinga Road. The car was also on fire and this was extinguished before arrival. Services were provided and assistance given to the Ambulance Service and Police
