East Anglian Air Ambulance medics drove to the aid of a woman in her 50s who was being rushed to hospital yesterday from a North Walsham doctors' surgery after suffering a severe reaction to a bite or sting the previous day.

The crew used the charity's rapid response vehicle and met the land ambulance carrying the woman at Coltishall where they administered specialist drugs to stop her going into shock.

The patient was then taken on her way to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
