Woman in her 50s dies after air ambulance call out in Lowestoft

A woman in her 50s has died at a home in Newsons Meadow, Lowestoft.

Police are awaiting the results of a post mortem into the woman’s death, but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

The East of England ambulance service and East Anglian Air Ambulance were called out about 4pm yesterday (Tuesday), with Anglia One landing at the bottom of Love Road in Lowestoft.

A spokesman for the air ambulance said: “EAAA Anglia One was scrambled at 4.10pm to attend a patient at a private address in Lowestoft. The medical crew worked tirelessly with the EEAST crew but were eventually unsuccessful in regaining a pulse.

“We send our condolences to the patient’s family and friends.”

Police were contacted by the ambulance service at 4.55pm yesterday. A police spokesman said: “We have been notified of the death of a 51-year-old woman at a property in Newsons Meadow.

“The death is not thought to be suspicious and we are awaiting the results of a post mortem, which will take place on Friday.”
