Wintry weather set to continue in Norfolk

Forecasters are predicting temperatures will continue to be low for the start of the week.

For Norfolk, Phil Garner at UEA-based Weatherquest yesterday said that overnight last night was due to be cold with further snow showers drifting in from the north east, and that the frosty night was likely to lead to icy patches this morning on untreated roads and pavements.

He said last night’s temperatures were expected to be down to freezing point around the coast with inland areas as low as minus four degrees Celsius.

Today is expected to be bitterly cold with further sleet and snow showers drifting in from the North Sea.

There will be a moderate or fresh north easterly breeze becoming strong at times around the coast. Temperatures are expected to be around freezing point around the coast and inland potentially staying as low as minus two degrees Celsius.

For Tuesday, Mr Garner said it was looking a little bit brighter with some sunny periods, but he said there would still be a north easterly breeze and top temperatures would be around three degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday, there is expected to be sunny intervals with patchy cloud and the risk of light showers. There is expected to be a light to moderate north easterly breeze with temperatures up to six degrees Celsius.
